Good questions
Everything you’d ask at reception.
Practical answers, sourced from the property’s own listings. When something depends on the platform or the day, we say so.
Arriving & leaving
What are check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 14:00 to 00:00 and check-out is by 11:00, as listed on Hostelworld and Booking.com. Some other platforms show slightly different times — your booking confirmation wins.
I land late. Can I arrive after midnight?
Yes — just message us in advance on WhatsApp so we expect you and can send check-in instructions. Reception is listed as 24/7, but a heads-up keeps late arrivals smooth.
Can I leave my bags before check-in or after check-out?
Hostelworld lists free luggage storage. Ask at reception when you arrive.
How do I get here from the airport?
Alfonso Bonilla Aragón airport is roughly 15 miles (about 24 km) away according to Booking.com. Take a taxi or ride-hail, or ask us about the paid airport shuttle listed on Booking.com and Hostelworld.
Rooms & bathrooms
Which rooms have a private bathroom?
The Bohío Queen, the Tropical King and the Family Room have private bathrooms. The Ground-Floor King, Amazonas Queen and Budget Double are private rooms with a shared bathroom, and all dorms use shared bathrooms. Every room page shows this up front.
Do dorm beds have curtains, lights and plugs?
The 4-bed capsule dorm has a privacy curtain, reading light and USB-C + USB port in every pod, plus A/C and lockers. Ask us to confirm the same set-up for the 6-bed and women-only dorms.
Are towels included?
Private rooms come with fresh towels and soap. For dorm guests, towels are available at reception — ask about the terms when you check in.
Is there a women-only dorm?
Yes. You book one bed and share the bathrooms. Ask whether it is currently set up with 4 or 6 beds.
Work & longer stays
How good is the Wi-Fi?
Free Wi-Fi runs through the house and the owners’ listings advertise speeds up to 500 Mbps. That’s an advertised figure, not a guarantee — Booking.com guests currently rate the Wi-Fi 9.2/10.
Is there somewhere to work?
Yes: a coworking space, a meeting room and the light-filled lounge, with free coffee and tea all day. Private rooms give you a door to close for calls.
Can I stay for a month?
Bohemia welcomes guests for “one night or one month”. There are no fixed monthly rates on this site — send your dates on WhatsApp and the team will reply with options.
Food & coffee
Is breakfast included?
Not by default. Canela Café, on site, serves breakfast, brunch and lunch, paid separately unless your booked rate says otherwise. Coffee and tea at the community coffee corner are free all day.
Can I cook?
Yes. The shared kitchen has a stove, fridge and freezer, microwave, and dishes and pots.
Vegetarian or vegan?
Canela lists vegetarian and vegan options. Ask the team for today’s menu.
Booking, payment & cancellation
Can I book directly?
Message us on WhatsApp with your room and dates and the team will reply with price and conditions. You can also book on Hostelworld or Booking.com, and some private rooms on Airbnb.
What is the cancellation policy?
It depends on the platform and rate. Hostelworld currently lists free cancellation up to 48 hours before arrival; on Booking.com the conditions depend on the rate you choose. Check your offer, or ask us for direct bookings.
Which payment methods are accepted?
That varies by channel too: Hostelworld’s house rules say credit cards are not accepted, while Booking.com shows card options for bookings made there. For direct bookings, confirm with the team.
Are taxes included?
Hostelworld lists tourist taxes as included. Check the total on the platform you book with.
Why don’t you show prices here?
This site isn’t connected to live inventory, and prices change by date and platform. Rather than guess, we send you to the team on WhatsApp or to the partner sites, which show real-time rates.
House life & rules
Is Bohemia a party hostel?
It’s social — salsa classes, outings, game nights — but it’s a home, not a club. The dorm listing sets quiet hours from 23:00 to 07:00, and Booking.com notes that parties and bachelor(ette) groups aren’t accommodated.
Smoking, pets, kids?
Bohemia is non-smoking. Pets aren’t allowed. Children of all ages are welcome (the Family Room works well), but cribs and extra beds aren’t available.
Are the activities free?
The salsa classes are free, and the hostel lists its food tour as free. Outings like nights out, Río Pance or Siloé usually involve your own costs (entry, transport, guides) — each experience card says what to expect.
Location & getting around
Where exactly is Bohemia?
Carrera 42A #5A-98 in Tequendama, a residential part of south-west Cali near San Fernando and the Estadio Pascual Guerrero — about 3.7 km from the city centre, per Hostelworld.
Can I walk to San Antonio and the salsa clubs?
Plan on taxis or ride-hail for most of them. Tequendama is calm and non-touristy — guests love that — but the historic centre, San Antonio and most salsa venues are a short ride away rather than a stroll.
Accessibility & security
Is the hostel step-free?
We can’t confirm full accessibility. The Ground-Floor King is listed with no stairs to the room; for anything else, please contact us about step-free access and your requirements before booking.
How is security handled?
Reception is listed as 24/7, the listings mention security cameras in common areas and outside the building, dorm guests have lockers, and several private rooms have a lock on the door.
